NIB MD Pays Courtesy Call on Acting IGP

The Managing Director of the National Investment Bank (NIB) Mr. Samuel Sarpong has paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) James Oppong-Boanuh. The visit forms part of efforts at deepening the working relations between the two institutions towards delivering essential services to all stakeholders.

Mr. Sarpong indicated after the IGP’s warm welcome that the visit was important as “the two institutions have for many years worked closely together towards providing invaluable services to the people of Ghana. Reinforcing such an essential partnership is crucial in tackling the ever-changing and highly sophisticated crimes our society is confronted with.” Mr. Sarpong also implored the IGP to be resolute in all his dealings to ensure the deployment of impeccable security for all citizens.

On his part, Mr. Oppong-Buanuh said he “will ensure the GPS provides the best security service to everyone in an atmosphere of good relations and collaboration.” Efforts according to him, are being made to reverse the seemingly scruffy image of the GPS as the necessary steps are being taken by his outfit to closely engage all Commanders and Leadership in the GPS to facilitate strict monitoring and supervision of officers.

He added that the GPS “is now poised to deliver on its mandate according to the tenets of law, and justice-for-all. We are also doing our best motivating all officers to professionally deliver on their security responsibilities for a safer Ghana.”

The MD/CEO Mr. Sarpong was accompanied by the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Alfred George Thompson and some supporting staff.
