NIB Supports GRAFT Foundation

The Ghana Reconstruction of Anomaly and Trauma Fund referred to as the GRAFT Foundation, has expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the National Investment Bank (NIB) for a cash donation to assist the foundation in its provision of free reconstructive surgeries to children born with birth deformities. To date, the bank has supported the foundation to offer free surgeries to some three hundred (300) children with some physical deformities including cleft lip and palate, extra fingers and toes, post-burn contractures, tumours and swellings, among others.

Proceeds from the bank’s annual “Festival of Nine Lessons, Carols and Thanksgiving Service” are donated to the GRAFT Foundation to ensure smiles are put on the faces of affected children after the surgeries. Some of the deformities corrected by the foundation are cleft lip and palate, extra fingers and toes, post-burn contractures, tumours and swellings, among others. Defects of this nature affect children adversely, as they are mostly deprived of early-childhood education.

Proceeds from the bank’s annual “Festival of Nine Lessons, Carols and Thanksgiving Service” are donated to the GRAFT Foundation to aid with their work of putting smiles on the faces of affected children. Defects of this nature affect children adversely, as they are mostly deprived of a meaningful and productive life.

Presenting the cheque to the Foundation, Managing Director, Mr. Samuel Sarpong said “NIB will continue to support the Foundation to help it turn the lives of affected children around.” Adding that, “These tokens can make a positive impact on the lives of these children as a smile always sends a pleasant signal.”

Project Director of the GRAFT Foundation Dr. Brainerd Anani thanked Management and Staff of NIB and acknowledging that the “donations to us have always been timely, and these funds that you call tokens, have over the years enabled the Foundation offer quality, free surgeries to over three hundred (300) children.”

The donation is in line with the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and part of our core values which enjoin the bank to contribute to society by being active, responsible and generous members of the communities we find ourselves in.
