Ernest Aboagye is an experienced Attorney with a wealth of cross-functional experience in Litigation and Corporate Practice.  Trained as a Pharmacist in the KNUST, he went on to read Law at the University of Ghana and was called to the Bar in 2007.  He has since built a wide range of experience in healthcare, banking and finance, advising Corporate and Private Clients on a wide range of Complex Domestic and International Transactions.

 

Ernest joined NIB as General Counsel from Zenith Bank Ghana Limited where he led the Legal Department for four years after an earlier stint with Access Bank Ghana (Plc) as Team Lead and Deputy Head of Corporate Counsel (Legal Department). Prior to switching to Banking and Finance, he worked at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital as Internal Solicitor and Legal Advisor for six years where he established the hospital’s first Legal Unit.

 

In addition to his professional qualifications in Law and Pharmacy, Ernest holds two Masters Degrees: one in Organisation Development from the University of Cape Coast and the other in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership from the KNUST.

 

He has served on the Governing Board and National Standing Executive Committee of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) and the Chamber of Pharmacy Ghana and has represented clients across the entire spectrum of the superior courts in Ghana.

 

His core Legal Practice areas are Banking, Finance and Corporate Governance and Transactions (mostly Commercial, Financial, Real Estate and Labour).

 

Ernest is married with three children and is deeply committed to his family and church activities. He loves to write, read and watch soccer.
